The Gourdon Villa owned by the family de la Fare from Bollène becomes Cardinal de la Fare’s summer residence.

1870

The first vineyards are planted on the Château de Gourdon estate.

1900

The château is restored.

1901

Amance Prieur de la Comble purchases the château with the aim of comfortable living and production of wine. This is the year when the old winery located in the château is built. He also builds the tower and the central part of the construction, clears the land and plants new vineyards.

1957

The estate is purchased by the Sanchez and Goucher families and the vineyards are expanded from 7 to 35 hectares.

1996

The vineyards and castle become ownership of the Mazurd family from Tulette who also add new land parcels, expanding the estate to 50 hectares of vineyards and forest.

2006

Under the management of the Mazurd’s daughter, Martine and her husband, André Martel, the estate is rehabilitated and the castle’s shine restored. They bring the Château de Gourdon wine brand alive and start accommodating visitors in order to be able to renovate further. Each year, the high-quality wines produced win awards at the wine competitions in Orange.

2018

Château de Gourdon becomes part of Tikveš Châteaux & Domaines family, as one of the estates where exclusive wines under this brand-platform are being produced.

2019

Significant investments are made in modernization of the winery and further development of Château de Gourdon with complete revival of the wine portfolio.
